Eternal Fire Abolishes Academy Players’ Contract For Allegedly Using Cheats

Cheating scandals in the pro scene are nothing new when it comes to the Counter-Strike esports scene. From KQLY to Forsaken, there are several incidents related to cheating that happened in the past.

Today, the Turkish team announced on their official X handle, that Depact and Cyber who were playing for the Eternal Fire Academy team, were caught red-handed using a console code that allows cheating inside CS2.

Eternal Fire was established in 2021, co-founded by the Counter-Strike star XANTARES. The team managed to participate in the first CS2 Major which took place in Copenhagen, and ended at the 6th place. Like several other teams, Eternal Fire launched its own Academy team to find out upcoming talents.

According to reports, Depact and Cyber were using cheats while playing on Faceit, which is a popular third-party matchmaking platform. The immediate and strong action taken by Eternal Fire is appreciated by the community as such offenses should be taken sternly.

Undisputedly, there is a shedload of hackers in the official matchmaking servers of CS2. However, in the esports scene, cheating is a clear insult to competitive integrity.
