G2 Looks for Cloud9’s HeavyGod to Replace NiKo

According to popular reporter NeL, G2 has eyed up Cloud9’s Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko to replace their outgoing star rifler, NiKo.

As NiKo’s move to Falcons itches closer, G2 has started preparing to move on from him. Technically, Niko’s place will be taken up by Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa who already enjoyed a successful year with the organisation while HeavyGod will be the fifth man on the rifle.

Despite Cloud9 falling behind in tier-1 tournaments, HeavyGod managed to deliver for the team, averaging an impressive 1.16 rating over 73 maps played. Despite it being his first season in tier 1, he managed to deliver solid performances against top opposition.

The void left by NiKo might be too much for anyone to fill unless G2 manages to find proper roles for all their players. NiKo ended their trophy drought and went on to secure prestigious tournaments like IEM Cologne and IEM Katowice for G2 but his time with the roster will come to an end if his move to Falcons goes through.

Besides NiKo, G2 is likely to retain their superstar AWPer m0NESY, who will be surrounded by young guns like malbsMd and HeavyGod with experienced veterans like Snax and huNter rounding off the roster.

G2’s roster for 2025 could look as follows:

  • Nemanja “huNter-” Kovač
  • Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov
  • Mario “malbsMd” Samayoa
  • Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski
  • Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko
  • Poland Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas (coach)
