How To Jump Throw Consistently in Counter Strike 2 (CS2)?

With a huge wave of new Counter-Strike 2 beta invites being sent out to fans throughout the globe, the final release of the competitive shooter is closer than ever. The revamped competitive rating system recently introduced in CS2 is inspiring players to develop new and creative strategies to rank up in the newly added ‘Premier’ matchmaking mode, and fans are already grinding out the game to reach their dream ranks at the time of the game’s official launch in ‘Summer 2023’.

If you’re looking to improve your CS2 gameplay, then one of the first things you should work on is perfecting your jump throws. Jump throwing nades, smokes, and flashes can be extremely crucial for executing or retaking bombsites and can often be the pivotal factor in determining a round’s outcome.

Fortunately, jump throwing in Counter-Strike 2 is easier than ever, and it takes no more than a few seconds to set up a jump throw bind in CS2 via the developers console.

Let’s check out how you can create your own jump throw bind in CS2.

CS2 Jump Throw Bind: Console Commands Explained

There are a few steps that you need to follow in order to set up a jump throw bind in CS2. First, you’ll need to head over to the CSGO config folder in your game files, which is located in the following directory: \\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg\

Now, you’ll need to copy any config file and rename it to ‘jumpthrow’ or ‘jumpthrow.cfg’.

Once done, paste the following commands into the file:

+jump

-attack

-attack2

-jump

After pasting the commands, save the file and exit it.

Now, you can go ahead and launch CS2 on your PC. Once you’re in the main menu, open the developers’ console by pressing the ‘~’ key on your keyboard, and type the following:

Bind j ‘exec jumpthrow’

And that’s it! All that’s left for you to do is to hop onto a game and press the ‘j’ key on your keyboard to execute the jumpthrow command. Do note that to execute the jumpthrow command, you’ll need to have your grenade pulled out and your fire key held when executing the jumpthrow command.
