Ilya Osipov, aka m0NESY, ranked second for PC Gamer of the Year at the Esports Awards, beating Donk, falling behind Dota 2 pro Lee Sang-hyeok aka Faker who concluded the CS season on a higher note.
The 19-year-old prodigy from G2 Esports experienced a very successful year winning 3 tier-1 trophies all while bagging MVPs on every occasion. While the Major has slipped out of his hand despite solid performances throughout the year, little could be argued against Russian wunderkind.
The Counter-Strike community might be more inclined towards donk having the title instead of m0NESY, who stunned everyone with his performance in his debut year. Winning the major was a cherry on top for him but m0NESY managed to maintain a better form throughout the year with a 1.27 rating.
With G2 Esports set to reshuffle their roster around m0NESY, the next iteration of the team might see him getting more room to play the way he wants to. While donk is breathing down his neck, m0NESY is expected to build upon the success of 2024.
