Defending champions G2 Esports are eliminated by a young and talented Mouz roster who overcame their curse of big games to take down the in-from team. With this win, Mouz has progressed to the semi-finals against NAVI with this being their highest-ever placement in an IEM event this season having struggled in the playoffs on multiple occasions leading upto IEM Cologne.

Map 1: Dust 2; Pick: G2; Winner: Mouz
G2’s pistol round win was quickly answered with a force buy victory on the CT side by Mouz, followed by a conversion round from G2 that saw them go 4-1 up. G2 was able to hit back with a few rounds, but in the end, they walked out with a 7-5 lead.
Mouz on their offense was prolific, to say the least, they managed to steamroll G2 who only managed two rounds on their defense. G2 got close on multiple occasions but it wasn’t enough to keep Mouz at bay as they closed the map with a 13-9 score line. Jimpphat stood out as the best player with an IR of 1.54 securing 22 kills.
Map 2: Mirage; Pick: Mouz; Winner: Mouz
Despite a better start, G2 fell behind after the first gun round that saw Mouz take charge of the map. An even trade of rounds until Mouz was able to close out the first half with a lead. Similar to the first map, G2 despite cutting it close failed to edge out a lead as a similar 7-5 half bestowed upon us but favoring Mouz.
G2 got off to a better start, winning 3 rounds in a row off the back of a Pistol round win but since the first gun round of the half, Mouz put up a show, winning 6 rounds straight to win the map. G2 hardly got a bomb plant and found themselves on an eco for the better part of the half which said they bombed out of IEM Cologne.
