Ninjas in Pyjamas Eliminate Cloud9 After Thrilling BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 Showdown

NiP Claims Victory Over Cloud9 in Epic BLAST Premier Battle

Ninjas in Pyjamas looked in sensational form today as they took down Cloud9 with a 2-1 win in a nail-biter of a series. This marks the end of Cloud9’s journey in the tournament. Here’s everything that went down during the best-of-three in the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2024 CS2 event.

  • Cloud9 banned Vertigo
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas banned Dust2
  • Cloud9 picked Mirage
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas picked Ancient
  • Cloud9 banned Nuke
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas banned Inferno
  • Anubis was left over

Game 1: Mirage (Pick: Cloud9, Win: Cloud9, Final Score: 13-4)

Mirage was pretty much a one-sided domination from Cloud9. Despite getting an early 2-0 lead on the CT side after winning the pistol round, NiP failed to maintain their momentum as Cloud9 snatched 7 rounds back-to-back. NiP could grab a couple more rounds before the end of the first half as the scoreboard showed an 8-4 lead in favor of Cloud9.

The second half was a flawless display from Cloud9 as they managed to secure the remaining rounds that they needed without giving up a single round.

Despite being on the losing side, Artem “r1nkle” Moroz found himself at the top of the leaderboard with an impressive 102.4 ADR with a K/D of 17/11.

Game 2: Ancient (Pick: NiP, Win: NiP, Final Score: 13-11)

Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to regain their composure heading into their map pick and the second map of the series, Ancient. After a successful pistol-round win on the T-side, NiP managed to convert the follow-up anti-eco without much hassle. Two consecutive buy-round wins from C9 shattered NiP’s economy but failed to stop NiP’s momentum as they quickly bounced back and ended the first half with an 8-4 lead.

To call the second half of Ancient a nail-biter would be an understatement. NiP got the head start on the CT side once again by winning the first four rounds in a row as they found themselves on match point, but Cloud9 wasn’t willing to give up a map without a fight. Fueled by some remarkable individual performances, Cloud9 nearly staged a comeback, winning seven consecutive rounds before NiP managed to close the map with a 13-11 victory.

R1nkle dominated the leaderboard once again with a K/D of 19/10.

Game 3: Anubis (Win: Cloud9, Final Score: 13-11 )

Cloud9 began the final map of the series on a strong note, winning the pistol round and successfully converting the following anti-eco round. NiP responded by winning two consecutive buy rounds before taking the lead for themselves. The teams then traded rounds, resulting in a 6-6 tie at the end of the first half.

After winning the final pistol round of the series, Cloud9 struggled with the anti-eco round but managed to win it. They also won the following buy round before NiP mounted a comeback with a series of consecutive victories. Both teams were in top form throughout the second half of Anubis, with the scoreboard tied at 11-11. Ultimately, NiP edged out Cloud9 and clinched the series with a 13-11 victory.

Fredrik “REZ” Sterner was the star of the second game with a whopping 111.4 ADR and a K/A/D of 20/13/17.
