PGL Bucharest 2025 Closed Qualifiers Delayed

PGL Bucharest 2025‘s European, North American, and South American closed qualifications have been postponed, the organizer confirmed. Amidst the call for fairness with the closed qualifier, PGL will be coming up with a revised invitation process.

The invitation process overhaul is to make sure the teams invited to the qualifiers will be revised. The refined invitation process makes sure all the teams get fair opportunities to the qualifiers.

“We’re deeply sorry for the trouble,” PGL’s statement read. “We’ll make sure to do better in the future and avoid mistakes like this again.”

The North America and Asia qualifications were set to begin on March 4 and 6, respectively, while the closed qualifiers for Europe and South America were supposed to begin on February 28.

We are yet to see how this change will impact the teams coming into the qualifiers, but with fair representation being the objective, this is a welcome change.
