PGL has started preparing for the Astana 2025 event which is scheduled to start this summer in the capital of Kazakhstan. After PGL Cluj Napoca and Bucharest 2025, PGL Astana will be the third event for the organizer.
While the tournament is all set to start on 10th May with a $1.25 million prize pool, PGL has announced the qualifiers details. A total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament. Among the 16 teams, 12 of them will come through invitations. The other 4 teams will become eligible through the qualifiers as every region (Europe, Asia, North America, and South America) will get its own open qualifiers. The Asia region is divided into 4 sub-regions – China, MENA, Oceania and Rest of Asia.
Therefore, a total of 8 teams will go to the closed qualifiers. The $1,250,000 prize pool will be distributed among the participating teams as follows:
- 1st Place: $400,000
- 2nd Place: $187,500
- 3rd Place: $150,000
- 4th Place: $87,500
- 5th-8th Places: $62,500 each
- 9th-11th Places: $31,250 each
- 12th-14th Places: $18,750 each
- 15th-16th Places: $12,500 each
