Following a 3 year run with Team Complexity, Tiaan “T.c” Coertzen will part ways with the North American CS2 roster after seeing through several iterations of the side across two versions of Counter-Strike.
CoL as a team never managed to click at the highest level, and despite their monetary success, the roster never looked like a real threat for the top sides under the coaching of T.c, which justifies the move in light of the organization losing key players to kick off their 2025 season.
Losing EliGE and floppy, saw CoL suffer from the lack of firepower on the big stages, and while they managed to make it to the big events due to a relatively easier bracket in NA qualifiers, it is hard to see them make deep runs in tier-1 events, let alone go all the way.
“For now, I’ll be recharging in South Africa with family while I await my next adventure,” he said. “I’m a free agent and open to opportunities in any region.”
T.c has declared himself as a free agent and will be looking at opportunities across other rosters. While the South African did not manage to win any honors, it can be argued that he was never provided the arsenal to compete at the top level, to begin with, and having a dysfunctional roster was not helping the cause.
Trying to build a roster across borders, the organization has chosen a regional approach going into 2025. While top-tier talent is a rare commodity in North America, CoL has chosen to trust their young recruits to take the roster to greater heights.
The CoL rebuild has yet to show promising results, and despite having a good blend of experience and skill on the roster, they lack the X factor that will see them make deep runs at big events.
