Spirit Become the Number One Team in CS2

From Underdogs to Champions: How Team Spirit Conquered the First Half of CS2

Team Spirit’s rise was nothing short of a spectacle in CS2 which was spearheaded by 17-year-old prodigy Danil ‘donk’ Kryshkovets. Team Spirit’s roster revamps after CS2, kicked off with promising results but following a statement victory at Katowice, the CIS side established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

Team Spirit has always been a side that produced good performances but they were few and far between. Despite having top talents on their side, Team Spirit never found that consistency that puts them beside the juggernauts. Through its various rosters, the team never brought home any trophies.

Venturing into CS2, Team Spirit made significant changes in their roster but unlike the majority of the teams, they did not choose to break the language barrier by signing only regional players. Having all the players from the same region helped them with team cohesion and they were able to hit the ground running.

The side roped in donk, zont1x, and sh1ro, who was arguably the biggest name at the time of joining and the side started to show results almost immediately. donk’s record-breaking performances at top events and having the stabilizing presence of sh1ro on the AWP, helped the team pick up 3 important CS2 trophies, namely, the Blast Spring Finals, IEM Katowice, and BetBoom Dacha.

The team now finds itself as the number-one team on the HLTV world rankings upon the conclusion of the first half of the CS2 season.
