Valve has temporarily taken down the Premier mode in CS2 as the devs prepare to ship out the highly anticipated Season 2 update for the competitive shooter.
The news was confirmed by the official Counter-Strike 2 X (formerly Twitter) handle in a recent post.
“Season One of Premier has concluded,” the post reads. “As a result, Premier has been temporarily disabled in-game and will return soon.”
CS2 Premier Season 1 Ends
After a period of 488 days since the game’s initial release on September 27, 2023, Season 1 of CS2 Premier has come to an end.
In case you haven’t had the chance to check out Valve’s previous announcement on the topic, players who participated in CS2 Premier Season 1 will get a commemorative medal displaying their detailed season statistics. Once the new update is shipped to the game, players will be able to find the medal in their CS2 inventory.
CS2 Premier Mode Temporarily Disabled
The CS2 Premier mode has been temporarily disabled by Valve ahead of the Season 2 update. As confirmed by devs earlier, the mode will remain unavailable for just one day before the new season is rolled out.”
With the CS2 Premier Season 2 update, players’ CS ratings will be recalibrated based on their Season 1 performance. If you want to get a new CS rating in Season 2, you will have to win 10 games in Premier mode once the update goes live.
CS2 Premier Season 2 Changes
Valve has announced several exciting changes planned for the CS2 Season 2 update. These include a price reduction for the M4A4 and the FAMAS, along with a change to the Active Duty map pool, with Vertigo being replaced by Train.
In addition to the price reduction, the FAMAS will receive a boost to its accuracy when standing and crouching.
