CSGO: OpTic Gaming disband

After the poor run of OpTic in ESL Pro League Season 10 group stage with a last place finish, Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen had announced that he would be stepping down from the team which was soon followed by the official disbandment announcement of the entire roster.

OpTic has been facing tough times recently after the issues with its parent organization lead to OpTic being put up for sale. OpTic also saw the departure of player René “cajunb” Borg to North leaving the squad lacking for the ESL Pro League group stage, their stand in was not enough to fortify their efforts at the group stage as they ended up with a humiliating last place finish.

With the conditions getting worse for OpTic, the roster has decided to branch out and look for individual offers. MSL the IGL of the OpTic squad said:

I HAVE DECIDED TO BENCH MYSELF. WHEN I JOINED OPTIC, THE PLAN WAS TO BUILD A STRONG TEAM AND BUY OUT STRONG PLAYERS, BUT BECAUSE OF OPTIC GETTING SOLD, THAT CHANGED AND WE HAVE CONSTANTLY BEEN IN A POSITION WHERE WE COULDN’T BUILD A PROPER TEAM.

I’M OPEN FOR ALL OFFERS BOTH NA & EU. MY DMS ARE OPEN. I BELIEVE THAT STRUCTURE, REFLECTION, AND HARD WORK ARE WHAT WILL BRING U TO THE TOP AND I BRING ALL THOSE. I EXPECT THE SAME FROM THE NEXT TEAM I WILL PLAY FOR. I’M IN NO HURRY, THIS TIME I WANT A TEAM THAT I CAN BELIEVE IN.

With the current situation at hand, the following OpTic members are now looking for a new team:

 Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen
 Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke
 Rene “TeSeS” Madsen
 Mathias “MSL” Lauridsen

 Casper “ruggah” Due (coach)
