Counter Strike: Evil Geniuses sign Stewie2K

The smoke criminal joins Evil Geniuses after a brief tenure with Team Liquid and may reunite with his former teammates from Cloud9.

Evil Geniuses have signed Jake “Stewie2K” Yip to their active CS:GO division, the North American organization announced today on Twitter. The 24 year-old will take the reigns of an IGL on his new team as the roster is further expected to be rounded off by Timothy “autimatic” Ta and William “RUSH” Weirzba.

The 2021 iteration of Evil Geniuses indeed hit the slump as the Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz led side were unable to bag at least a single tournament across the said period where they seemed to have entered a downward spiral filled with roster changes and change in roles. Despite several European outings, Evil Geniuses barely kept up with their rhythm from their previous form which indeed led the team to part ways with Tarik “Tarik” Celik and add Michał “MICHU” Müller.

Soon after an early exit from the PGL CS:GO Stockholm Major, EG were poised to revamp their roster going forward as they let stanislaw, MICHU, Owen “oBo” Schlatter, and Damian “daps” Steele explore their future options while they decided to sign Damien “maLeK” Marcel from G2 Esports to lead the team’s emphasis.

According to a recent report by TalkEsport and 1pv.fr, Evil Geniuses are rumored to sign RUSH and autimatic from the former’s free agency and T1 respectively, nearly giving us a glimpse of the old major winning days under Cloud9 CS:GO although it’s been near to confirmed by Nicole LaPointe Jameson, CEO of EG who tweeted a series of not so baffling updates about the new EG roster which clearly hinted the arrival of autimatic and RUSH to EG’s Counter Strike lineup.

With the addition of Stewie2K, EG CS:GO are now:

  • Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte
  • Tsvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov
  • Jake “Stewie2K” Yip
  • Damien “maLeK” Marcel (Head coach)
