Renowned CSGO Pro and G2 Esports star Nikola “NiKo” Kovac was about to join an Indian esports org back in 2014. However, the deal couldn’t be completed and fell apart before its finalization.
The news was confirmed by retired Indian CSGO pros Vishal “haiVaan” Sharma and Tejas “Ace” Sawant during a recent stream.
While NiKo was all set to move to India to play for an Indian org, the deal couldn’t work out because of the high salary expectations of NiKo, which were quite high.
The Indian org NiKo was about to join was none other than ‘Team Wolf’, the only Indian CSGO team to have made it to the major ‘ESL One: Cologne 2014’.
Team Wolf was coached under Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunovic who recommended NiKo to improve the team. Ritesh “RiTz” Shah, who was a member of Team Wolf, also sat down in a Skype call with kassad and NiKo in hopes of sealing the deal.
However, the least salary NiKos could reportedly go with was around $3,000, which was too high for what the team could afford at the time, and consequently the deal fell apart.
