Dupreeh becomes the first player to win 5 CSGO Majors

After winning it for his team the Blast.tv Paris Major 2023 at the Accor Arena, Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen has now bagged five majors across his career in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

So far we had seen Dupreeh win 4 Majors with Astralis (ELEAGUE Atlanta,  FACEIT London Major, IEM Katowice 2019, and StarLadder Berlin) before signing up for Team Vitality alongside Emil “Magisk” Reif and Danny “zonic” Sørensen in January 2022.

No other player will ever be able to top what dupreeh has accomplished because Valve is switching to Counter-Strike 2 and the BLAST Paris Major was the final CSGO Major.

“It couldn’t be better,” dupreeh said in an interview with James Banks after the Grand Finals at the Accor Arena. “My personal objective since joining Vitality was to win one more Major, and I did so today,” he concluded.

Alongside winning five majors, Dupreeh also became the consistent player in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to have qualified for straight 19 Majors in the due course. Winning 4 Majors with a team is indeed a majestic achievement one could ever bag and the count of 5 just tells us how

This fantastic milestone was achieved by dupreeh at the BLAST Paris Major, where he also contributed significantly to Vitality’s victory. Even though he wasn’t the team’s major star, he still managed a 1.11 rating across 10 maps, as per statistics powered by HLTV.org.

As mentioned, dupreeh is the only CS: GO player to qualify for all 19 Majors after Team Vitality qualified for Blast.tv Major. The other two players with 17 appearances, Richard “shox” Papillon and Andreas “Xyp9x” Hjsleth, missed Rio.

Dupreeh will have won four Majors with Astralis, including three straight from 2018 to 2019. Previously, he tied for first place with xyp9x, dev1ce, and gla1ve for the most Major wins, which was four.
