fnatic have announced the addition of Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi and Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen from Copenhagen Flames to their active CS:GO division and will replace Alex “ALEX” McMeekin & Valentin “poizon” Vasilev who were moved to the inactive roster ahead of 2022’s second half.
After falling out in the 12th-14th place at the PGL Antwerp’s European Regional Major Ranking tournament, fnatic were forced back to the drawing board as the Swedish side decided to re-shuffle their roster in a bid to crawl back on to the top. This indeed led to the removal of ALEX and poizon from the active roster while their stand-in Peppe ‘Peppzor’ Borak joined back Fnatic Rising.
Previously in the awe of the PGL Major Antwerp Qualifiers, Fnatic decided to bench smooya and bring in poizon and Peppzor for replacements before they bid farewell to Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin who now features in Ninjas in Pyjamas’ active lineup. In addition to getting knocked off PGL Antwerp’s RMR A event, Fnatic were unable to qualify for the ongoing IEM Dallas through its closed qualifier, adding up to the woes of the team.

Before hopping on fnatic, nicoodoz and roeJ had steered Copenhagen Flames to their first-ever consecutive majors both organized by PGL, Stockholm in 2021 followed by the recently concluded Antwerp iteration. Despite the team failing to make it to the playoffs at the either, CPH Flames seemed promising, almost closing out games against top tier teams including triumphs over ENCE and Evil Geniuses. Left alone the Majors, the duo have been phenomenal among the teams who competed across the other A to B tier tournaments throughout the year.
With these two new signings, fnatic have to now reveal their fifth and final piece to their puzzle. The team will debut with its new players at the Pinnacle Cup Championship 2022 which starts on June 8. With the signings of nicoodoz and roeJ, fnatic are now:
- Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson
- William “mezii” Merriman
- Nico “nicoodoz” Tamjidi
- Fredrik “roeJ” Jørgensen
- Jamie “keita” Hall (Head Coach)
- Alex “ALEX” McMeekin (benched)
- Valentin “poizon” Vasilev (benched)
