According to a report from blix.gg, G2 Esports now ponder upon the decision to replace their current In-Game Leader Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and Head Coach Rémy “XTQZZZ” Quoniam. The report hits the rock just six months after the duo had signed up for the main roster of G2 Esports CS:GO.
Earlier in January, G2 Esports had swapped Nemanja “nexa” Isaković with Aleksib from OG Esports and acquired XTQZZZ from Team Vitality, as a part of their post PGL Stockholm Major roster overhaul. Getting Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov prior to these signings was a massive deal, Carlos “ocelote” Rodríguez had locked himself in. But after just six months of the mentioned changes, a whistleblower seems to have already gone off for the European Mixture after they recently crashed out of the ongoing IEM: Cologne 2022, being hosted at the Cathedral of Esports.
Reports do suggest the departure of Aleksib and XTQZZZ is on the cards which put G2 Esports in a position to rebuild. Let alone IEM: Cologne 2022, the team barely had their ball rolling with a group stage exit from the PGL Antwerp Major at the hands of FURIA and a playoff defeat against the same opponent at the IEM: Dallas 2022.
With the current report still coming as a shock to many, its feasibility is yet to be determined with XTQZZZ ruling out it as ‘Fake’, earlier tweeted out by the 33-year-old tactician although Aleksib has yet to comment on the same.
