Map 1: Mirage (Pick: Monte, Winner: GamerLegion, Final Score: 16-10)

GamerLegion got off to a healthy start over Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev and company, which saw them take a comfortable 7-3 lead. A couple of rounds back and forth saw Monte fight for dominance over the Russians, thanks to the combined efforts put in by Ivan “iM” Mihai and Frederik “acoR” Gyldstrand, the duo who constantly tried to tune their scores on the board for GamerLegion although the first half went into the favor of Monte’s, which then read 9-6.

Coming back from the break saw GamerLegion wreak havoc on their assault, infiltrating every piece of reinforcements set up by Into the Breach. A triple kill by sdy helped Monte square off the scores to 10-10 which was followed by a quad by acoR who opened up the A-site for business letting his team take the lead. Monte looked listless on their defense as GamerLegion never stopped picking them off Mirage as the latter ran away with Monte’s pick, 16-11.

Map 2 : Overpass (Pick: GamerLegion, Winner: GamerLegion, Final Score: 16-3)

All that Monte had to win was in the first half of Overpass. It was as if the ghosts from Mirage haunted the Russian-Ukrainian squad which crippled them at the hands of GamerLegion. With Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and Nicolas “Keoz” Dgus packing off Sdy and his company left, right, and centre, Monte never found ground to reset and charter a comeback.

With Overpass ending to be an absolute one-sided affair, it was GamerLegion who comfortably cruised away with their own map pick and booked themselves a Semi-final spot alongside Heroic and Vitality at the Blast.tv 2023 Major playoffs.
