Intel Extreme Masters on their Twitter has revealed their schedule for the upcoming Play-in tournament of the flagship tournament, IEM Katowice 2021.
After a rough year amid the coronavirus pandemic and the disappointing cancellation of the Rio major, fans were eagerly looking forward to the schedule of the IEM Katowice 2021 play-in. Featuring top sixteen teams from across the globe, the former will lock horns against each other in a bid to grab a spot at the main event, to be held from Feb 18-28.
The Initial play-in matchups will kickstart from Feb 16th, with all of the fixtures to be played in a BO1 format. Teams falling down to the lower bracket will engage in three-match series on the 17th in the Lower bracket. With the latter being the final day of the play-in, it will decide the fate for the teams in the Lower rounds who will have to battle against in order to qualify.
Opening days match-ups are as follows:
- BIG vs. Movistar Riders :- 4:30 PM IST
- Spirit vs. Cloud9:- 4:30 PM IST
- Gambit vs. TeamOne:- 4:30 PM IST
- Renegades vs. Mousesports:- 6:00 PM IST
- Virtus.pro vs. Wisla Krakow:- 6:00 PM IST
- NIP vs. Complexity:- 6:00 PM IST
- OG vs. Fnatic:- 7:30 PM IST
- Liquid vs. MIBR:- 7:30 PM IST
The opening day will feature some exciting matches where the Colossus with their new man, Xeppaa will go against the men from Russia later followed by Liquid Vs MIBR highlighting FalleN’s return to the server against his former Brazilian organization.
