The B05 match between two Polish sides, namely PGE Turow and ThunderFlash has broken the record for the most rounds ever to be played on an official competitive CSGO match where three of the maps required additional time as they reached overtime.
On June 18, during the grand final of the Polish Esports League, PGE Turow and ThunderFlash achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new record on HLTV where their match lasted for around 7 hours and 30 minutes, playing a total of 173 rounds in their best-of-five match.
The match in question was between two CSGO teams of lower tiers however the competitiveness between the two sides was unlike anything we have seen before with three of the total 5 maps going into overtime and breaking the record that had remained unbroken for almost eight years.
The previous record was held by a match between MOUZ and HellRaisers back in August 2015 during the Acer Predator Masters championship where the match lasted for 164 rounds.
PGE were able to show their incredible resilience on the big occasion by narrowly edging out the series with a 3-2 scoreline.
