The North American Organization have decided to reinstate their old coach, who had won them the Intel Grand Slam. Team Liquid on Twitter have announced the addition of Eric “adreN” Hoag as the head coach for their CSGO division.
As earlier reported by HLTV.org and TalkEsport, adreN will take up the Head Coach position at Team Liquid after going on a hiatus from 2020’s second half onwards. This announcement comes only hours after releasing Jason ‘Moses’ O’Toole citing a series of mixed results.
adreN is no stranger to Team Liquid as the former have won them across eight international tournaments, most notably the Intel grand Slam (IGS) Season 2 post their win over french side Vitality at the ESL One Cologne 2019. At that period, Nicholas “nitr0” Cannella was a part of Team Liquid, who went on to assist his side to a plethora of tournament wins before deciding to retire from the scene and pursue a career in Valorant. Soon after nitr0’s retirement, Liquid too parted ways with adreN, which saw the former undergo a partial revamp, bringing aboard Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo and Michael “Grim” Wince.
This is the third time adreN would be back on Liquid, after directing the team first during 2015-16 and for the second time from 2018-20.
In the announcement video, he said,
Team Liquid are now:
- Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski
- Keith “NAF” Markovic
- Jake “Stewie2K” Yip
- Michael “Grim” Wince
- Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo
- Eric “adreN” Hoag (Head coach)
