At The Game Awards 2022 on Thursday, a new teaser for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty was unveiled, confirming his participation in the game.
A tweet from developer CD Projekt Red revealed that Elba would be playing a character named Solomon Reed.
When the expansion launches sometime in 2023, it will be exclusive to next-gen platforms and PC. CDPR might avoid some of the game’s key concerns from its 2020 launch on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One by doing that.
In that same tweet, it was revealed that Phantom Liberty will be getting a “spy-thriller expansion” set in an “entirely new district” of the game’s Night City setting and that Keanu Reeves would be reprising his role as Johnny Silverhand.

Only the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will be able to download the Phantom Liberty DLC. With the upcoming release of Cyberpunk 2077 patch 1.6, CD Projekt Red has stated that this will be the final major update for the current-gen version of the game.

Idris Elba makes his debut as Solomon Reed, an FIA agent of the New United States of America, in Phantom Liberty, which picks up the story from its ending as you take on a new enemy.

The next teaser clip appears to depict V swearing into some kind of new American administration, and Keanu Reeves has announced that he will return to reprise the character of Johnny Silverhand.
CD Projekt Red announced the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty release date, along with intentions to improve the game’s complicated mechanics and features. There will be an overhaul of the police system, for instance, and enhancements to vehicle-on-vehicle combat.
