Deputy CM Manish Sisodiya Addresses Youth In India

Esports Premier League 2021 saw the completion of its long premier franchise league event. Mumbai Marshals emerged as the winner of the event on 29th August 2021. The team was represented by one of India’s finest Free Fire teams, TSM FTX. Esports Premier League 2021 (ESPL) is a nationwide eSports tournament first of its kind Free Fire tournament organized by India Today Gaming.

The mega prize distribution ceremony took place at a city hotel on 30th August 2021 in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Mr. Manish Sisodia and Ms. Kalli Purie, Vice Chairperson, India Today Group, who awarded the champions and the runner-ups with the trophies and the cash awards.

“It was like a festival of Esports, playing out in the last couple of months. There was an overwhelming response coming from all over the country. The gamers showcased their A-game and the competition was nothing short of top class. I hope these athletes will further utilize this experience and win medals for the country in the coming time” said Mr. Vishwalok Nath, Director, ESPL.

ESPL 2021 was a multi-city tournament over a period of two months. ESPL 2021 featured a massive prize pool of Rs 25,00,000 distributed among the top 8 teams. The league was divided into four phases starting with the in-house registrations of the teams. Over a period of two months, the best Free Fire teams of the country made it to the finals which were held on 29th Aug 2021. 

Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, while addressing the live viewers and players, said “Esports now is growing very fast. I am convinced that this “E” sport deserves all the support and recognition. I promise that the Delhi government will encourage Esports in every possible manner. We will be happy to encourage all the initiatives that will help the industry and the sector to grow.”

With the awarding ceremony, Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also revealed the logo of the upcoming World Esports Cup, which is India Today Gaming’s next big eSports IP.
