It’s going to be a big year of fans for the Southeast Asian Dota region as One Esports is finally back with a firm word on the One Esports Dota 2 Jakarta Invitational in collaboration with PGL.
Originally, bound to happen mid-April, the event is now pushed back to November 23-29.
Although having the same prize pool as of next season’s Major, there won’t be any DPC points up for grabs for this particular tournament.
Probably the first third party event to be held after TI0 and happening weeks before the next major.
In fact, it will be an attractive option for all the teams who have qualified for majors, they could use this tournament to hone their skills before going to the major considering there’s still plenty of incentive as well.
Ten teams in all will receive a direct invite to the event, while two more to join the stack surely going to be from the SEA region via dedicated Southeast Asian qualifiers held for teams from the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
ONE Esports has rapidly grown considering the organization is not even a year old yet, this event will be the third Dota 2 tournament hosted this year and fourth they have held in 12 months.
