Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past twenty-four hours, chances are that you’ve already come across the game-breaking Meepo exploit that has been haunting Dota 2 players and ruining ranked games.
Over the past day, the Meepo exploit in question has spread like wildfire throughout social media forums like Reddit, and has also paved the way for a few other exploits like the Warlock Facet bug.
The Meepo infinite gold exploit caused many Dota 2 players to stop queuing for ranked games. Some players turned to the game’s subreddit, urging others to conduct Overwatch cases and ban those exploiting the bug.
Fortunately, it seems that Dota 2 players can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Earlier today, Valve shipped out an update to the MOBA, fixing both the Meepo exploit and the Warlock facet bug.
In fact, the patch notes for the June 30th Dota 2 update include just a single line: “Fixed the exploits caused by Warlock’s facet, Meepo’s facet, Witch Doctor & illusions.”
The Dota 2 community has urged Valve to ban all the players who have abused this bug to gain MMR in an unfair way. Whether the devs decide to punish the exploiters still remains to be seen.
