Dota Anime ‘Dragon’s Blood’ set to release on Netflix on March 25

To everyone’s surprise, Valve has announced a new anime series titled Dota: Dragon’s Blood in collaboration with Netflix, and is premiering on March 25. The series will explore Dota’s lore and the universe and will feature characters Dragon Knight and Mirana from the game.

“Following encounters with a powerful, ancient eldwurn as well as the nobel Princess Mirana on a secret mission of her own, Davion, a renowned Dragon Knight, becomes embroiled in events much larger than he could have ever imagined.”

Although the initial announcement was surprising given how Valve hasn’t really advertised Dota outside of the eSports scene, Netflix’s involvement was expected here as they have a huge catalog of video-game based content i.e The Witcher and Castlevania and they are currently working on a Devil May Cry and Tomb Raider anime series respectively.

The anime will have 8 episodes and is animated by Studio MIR who is best known for working on The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender while the show is produced by Ashley Edward Miller who helmed Thor and X: Men First Class.
