ESL has declared they’re facilitating a Dota 2 Major in Birmingham this May, the first run through a competition of this scale for the amusement will occur in the UK.
The ESL One will be held at Arena Birmingham between 25-27th May 2018, which will see twelve world-class Dota 2 groups fight it out for an offer of 1,500 qualifying focuses for The International 8, alongside a prize pool of $1 million (£719,100). Six of the groups included will be welcome to take an interest, while the other six openings will be chosen through online qualifiers open to groups in North America, South America, Europe, CIS, Southeast Asia and China.
Birmingham has beforehand facilitated other sizeable esports occasions, including ESL Arena at EGX 2017 which saw 80,000 gamers run to the Birmingham NEC for competitions crosswise over League Of Legends to Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
