Here’s How You Can Get Custom Chat Wheel Sounds Back in Dota 2

You don't have to wait till the next battle pass to use chat wheel sounds anymore as Hamul brings your favourite Dota 2 sounds at your fingertips.

Starting from The International 2017, custom chat wheel sounds are something that Dota 2 players have gotten used to. From celebrating extraordinary plays to tilting your opponents, they are used by casual players and professionals alike.

Chat wheel for World of Warcraft?

Till now, the chat wheel sounds were exclusive to battle pass owners and they could only be used for a couple months per year along the duration of the battle pass. Thankfully, some Dota 2 enthusiasts came up with a brilliant solution to this.

As claimed in this Reddit post, Hamul is a software made by “a group of 3 friends who love Dota 2 and, in particular, the chat wheel.”

As mentioned by u/joshli – one of the creators – Hamul is an in-game sound wheel for Dota and other voice chat platforms like Discord or Teamspeak. It has a plethora of popular sounds from various famous Dota 2 personalities and casters which can be used at will to communicate with your team or just to keep the mood light.

But wait, there’s more! The software also has included voices from many streamers and other content creators across Dota 2 in it.

The creators of the software claim that Hamul will encourage many gamers who feel uncomfortable using their voice chat to communicate with their team, resulting in a much better gameplay experience overall for the players. It can also potentially make communication more effective by shortening the duration it takes to give complex callouts in the heat of battle.

The makers also promise in their website that they’ll soon be making the software compatible with other esports titles such as CS:GO and League of Legends.

And it’s not only fun and games, as pointed out by u/heroh341 in his comment, “a system like this is a complete game changer for mute people”. It can provide room for much better gameplay experience for mute people who can now communicate just by the push of a button.

You can also check out this YouTube video made by them demonstrating how the software works and what kind of sound packs are included within it.
