Dota 2 is undoubtedly one of the best modern-day MOBA titles in the world of video games. Featuring a daily active player count in millions, the title by Valve is renowned for its ever-growing esports scene.
The annual Dota 2 tournament, The International, is the single largest esports tournament of the world in terms of prize pool.
Don’t worry, all the enjoyment of Dota 2 isn’t reserved for the professionals. Valve has also implemented a brilliant way for casual players to be able to experience small-scale weekly tournaments in the form of the Dota 2 Battle Cup. If you’re looking to simulate what it’s like to be a part of a Dota 2 pro game, the Battle Cup is for you.
Here’s what you need to do to be able to join the Dota 2 Battle Cup:
- Firstly, you need to meet the requirements to join a ranked game, i.e. have at least 100 hours of unranked matchmaking experience and have a phone number linked with your account.
- If you meet these requirements, all that’s left for you to do is get a ticket to the Battle Cup. You can either do so by having an active Dota Plus subscription, or by directly purchasing a ticket which costs a dollar each.
- Once you have your ticket, simply wait for the Battle Cup to start and form a team. If you don’t have a team, you can queue with random players from the Battle Cup chat channels.
That’s all you need to know to participate in the Dota 2 Battle Cup.
