joinDOTA To Stop DOTA 2 Operations From March 31st

Long-standing Defense of the Ancients 2 – DOTA 2 tournament organiser, joinDOTA will bid adieu to DOTA 2 come March 31st 2022, as announced on Twitter. The organisation will cease its DOTA 2 operations as per their press release, after a long thought out a decision over the DOTA 2 ecosystem and where they want to grow within the community.

joinDOTA was responsible for organising the first-ever The International tournament at Gamescom in August 2011.

The inaugural The International from joinDOTA had a przie pool of $1.6 million, an amount that was unheard of at the time and set the precedent for the other International tournaments that followed. NaVi was the winner of DOTA 2 The International 2011.

Other than The International, joinDOTA had organised many other DOTA 2 tournaments, paving the way for a lot of creators and talent to get into the DOTA 2 ecosystem, who continue to work tournaments.

joinDOTA had also organised the famous – The Defense 3, the MLG series, and the Joindota League. The last DOTA 2 tournament from Joindota was  Brewmaster’s Cup 2, held in September 2019.

Freaks 4U Gaming – the company behind joinDOTA did not rule out the potential for future campaigns in the DOTA 2 community, saying they may run DOTA 2 projects if they see an opportunity to collaborate with other partners such as the Dota 2 tournament of the ESL National Championship in Germany, ESL Meisterschaft.

But After a decade of being part of the DOTA 2 circuit, joinDOTA will be saying goodbye. They were widely successful during their run, racking up over 80 million+ views, 15 million+ hours watched and 7,000+ uploads on YouTube alone. Overall they had 1 billion+ minute watched

40,000+ hours streamed while broadcasting DOTA 2. They were also responsible for Fully broadcasting ESL One Los Angeles 2020 after a failed start due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
