Singapore-based tournament organiser, One Esports, is returning to the Dota scene with the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Jakarta Invitational.
After One Esports’ Dota 2 debut event with the Singapore World Pro Invitational, which began last year, it was hugely successful. The event witnessed some of Dota 2’s top tier teams battling for a $500,000 prize pool. Vici Gaming was crowned as champions while Evil Geniuses finished at the second place.
The Jakarta sequel will follow much the same format, with a few additional changes.
One Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational Jakarta will take place on April 17-19th at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition. Similarly, 12 teams will be fighting for the share of $500,000. The team’s from Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam will be participating in 64 slots best of one matches open qualifier for each sub-region. The top four teams to standout will be playing in the best-of-three playoffs. Only one winner from each region will advance to Live Regional Qualifiers event held in Jakarta and in Kuala Lumpur.
Regional Qualifiers events will be held March 7th-8th at the Sunway Pyramid and March 14th-15th in Jakarta at the Mall Taman Anggrek. The winners of both of these events will join the 10 invited teams to battle for a prize pool of half a million dollars and a shot to claim the title of One Esports Dots 2 Jakarta Invitational Champion.
