PGL has recently revealed the details of the upcoming Wallachia Season 2 Dota 2 event, and fans of the MOBA from throughout the globe are excited to know more about what they can expect from the tournament.
Following the remarkable success of the first season, PGL Wallachia Season 2 is set to be one of the biggest Dota 2 events of 2024. The tournament will see some of the best Dota 2 teams in the world battling it out for a lion’s share of the gigantic $1,000,000 prize pool.
PGL Wallachia Season 2: Schedule & Format
Ten elite Dota 2 teams will receive direct invitations to PGL Wallachia Season 2, while six teams will have to compete through open and closed qualifiers to secure their spots. The qualifiers for the upcoming tournament are scheduled to take place from August 9-17, 2024.
The main event, taking place from October 1-13, 2024, will kick off with a 16-team Swiss format Group Stage. The top eight teams from this stage will advance to the Playoffs, which will follow a double-elimination bracket. All Playoff matches will be best-of-three (BO3), with the Grand Finals of the event culminating in an exciting best-of-five (BO5) showdown.
The first season of PGL Wallachia, held from May 10-19, featured fierce competition among top-tier teams alongside some high-quality Dota 2 gameplay. After a string of intense matchups, Team Spirit emerged victorious with a 3-2 triumph over Xtreme Gaming in the Grand Finals.
