Dragon disqualified from China DPC league lower division

Yesterday, May 3 during Season 2, week 4 of the China DPC lower-division tournament which began on April 12, Dragon and Xtreme Gaming were eight minutes into their match when it was paused and both teams had to abandon the match as it was suddenly called off due to undisclosed reasons.

Perfect World, the tournament Organizer, later revealed that Dragon had been disqualified as they used an unauthorized stand-in player against Xtreme Gaming without contacting Perfect World, therefore they violated the tournament rules and, as a result, they’re not eligible to partake in tournaments hosted by DPC. Dragon was assessed with a loss for their previously played and future matches while Xtreme won by 2-0 as a result.

The series will continue as intended, while the bottom two teams out of the remaining seven will be participating in an open qualifier to be in the top six, so far Phoenix Gaming and LBZS are sitting comfortably at #1 and #2 respectively.

The tournament ends on May 23 with a prize pool of  $75,000 USD that will be distributed amongst the top six teams.
