Entity Gaming qualifies for IEM Sydney 2019 SEA Closed Qualifier

Entity have just beaten RRQ 2-1 in Round 5 of the IEM Sydney Open Qualifiers, and to the delight of Indian fans, now move on to the Closed Qualifier.

IEM Sydney 2019 SEA Open Qualifier #1 Semi-final:

  • RRQ won Inferno 16-8
  • Entity Gaming won Mirage 22-20
  • Entity Gaming won Train 16-10

After having banned Nuke, Entity picked Inferno after some impressive results of late, but having lost both pistols and not gaining any ground on the buy rounds, they lost 16-8, with an impressive performance from FrostMisty that saw a monstrous ADR of 97. What also helped them was the fact that RRG got the opening kill in 17 out of the 24 rounds that were played.

With all hope lost and a 2-0 on the cards, Entity got their mojo back on Mirage and got off to a blistering 11-4 start on the CT side. However, they struggled massively on the T side and lost the opening 7 rounds to equalize the score.

After somehow scraping 4 rounds, the game went to overtime, where it was a very close contest, and after a double OT, the Indian side came victorious, winning 22-20. Djoxic and psy, who had a terrible first map, with a combined 17 kills and 39 deaths, stepped up their game massively on Mirage. The Serb put in a 40 bomb, with 21 AWP kills while psy redeemed himself by getting 34 to his name and an ADR of 89.

What remained was a mouth watering decider on Train, a map which both were comfortable on. Entity got a fast 8-2 lead on the CT side, but after a couple of mistakes, they led the Indonesian squad back in to the game, eventually pulling it back to 6-9. After winning the pistol, however, RRQ did not have much to show, and Entity closed out the series 16-10.

This means that Indian CS fans have a lot to get excited about, as Entity moves to the closed qualifiers, 1 step closer to the main event. Stay tuned for more updates.
