Entity Gaming to build new CSGO roster after ESL India Premiership Winter Finale – Report

Entity Gaming is likely to reconstruct its CS:GO roster after Winter Finale of ESL India Premiership 2019 later this month while they might still hold on to Tejas "Ace" Sawant and build a fresh lineup around him.

According to sources close to the players and organisation, Entity Gaming’s Counter-Strike roster is likely to restructure, TalkEsport has learned. Recent struggle at LAN events and qualifiers is primarily the reason behind this move. The roster has seen instability and under-performance by its core-players since quite some time.

The squad secured 4th position at WESG South Asia 2019 losing to BL4ZE and Global Esports while they lost four matches on the trot and secured 9th-10th position at NVIDIA GeForce Cup Pacific 2019. In the subcontinent, they recently lost ILG Cup Season 3 Regional Qualifier against Global Esports in Pune. Entity Gaming’s lineup has qualified for ESL India Premiership Winter LAN Finale 2019 which will be held later this month. This will be their last event under the Entity banner.

Entity Gaming’s CS:GO roster for Winter Finale 2019 will be:

  • Simar “psy” Sethi
  • Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar
  • Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma
  • Tejas “Ace” Sawant
  • Chinmay “PokI” Mehta

The core of Simar “psy” Sethi, Karan “Excali” Mhaswadkar and Anuj “Amaterasu” Sharma have been the backbone of Entity Gaming for ages. However, Simar did have a short break due to the wrist injury. On the contrary, the two other players have been varying for Entity ever since trying nearly a dozen players. But, they never settled and inconsistency has led to the downfall of much-celebrated roster.

TalkEsport reached out to Entity Gaming as the story developed. Sid Joshi, Manager, Entity Gaming said:

We entered 2019 with great hope and expectations. Some issues persisted, but our performance in CS:GO stayed at the top in India. For that, we are eternally grateful to the players who gave their best. But, what has always mattered to the philosophy of Entity Gaming was bringing home an international trophy.

Hence, we are looking at restructuring our entire CSGO squad and our last event together will be ESL winter lan. We will chart our plan of action in the next few weeks.

This doesn’t mean that we are entirely shifting away from the title. We probably just need to sea some changes.

The sources also suggested that the Mumbai based organisation will retain veteran Tejas “Ace” Sawant and might build a SEA roster around him. Additional amusing thing is the fact that Simar’s Steam nickname is ‘psy LFT’ where LFT refers to ‘Looking For Team’.
