Intel Extreme Masters now relocated to Melbourne by ESL, sets a whopping $250,000 prize pool.
ESL on its twitter announced the return of it’s a most iconic event in Australia, the Intel Extreme Masters which is now scheduled to be held in Melbourne on 22nd and 23rd of August 2020. Previously the event used to take place in Sydney with three successful gigs from 2017-2019. It’s the first time we would witness an IEM event go underway in the capital. If we look back into the history of IEM Sydney and that too of Australia as well, we can recollect some cherishing moments where we saw the native men of Grayhound (now Renegades) Outclass FaZe thus eliminating them out of the tournament.
At this moment, the information about this event is unclear but we strongly believe it will follow IEM Sydney’s pattern which will see 16 teams competing in the Rod Laver Arena for that lion’s share of $250,000. This edition of Intel Extreme Masters is all set to spearhead the Melbourne Esports Open event.
