ESL reveal Minor closed qualifier invites

Invites for the RIO Major Closed Qualifiers have been revealed by ESL with more teams to join them but only after they qualify and fight for the spots by competing at the Open Qualifiers for the same.

ESL Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on their twitter have unveiled the list of direct invites for the closed qualifiers who will be fighting for spots at the Minors as the road to Rio Major has kicked off. ESL on their website have also added some significant information thus clearing the doubts from the air regarding the teams who did secure direct invites to the closed qualifier. The ESL organization does state, “ These teams have primarily been invited based on their ESL World Ranking as well as additional factors such as other rankings, and recent results”

We now witness the likes of Cloud9, Gen.G Esports, Chaos Esports Club making it to the closed qualifiers through direct invites from their region. Among the invited teams, we would now witness the newly acquired Ex-ATK roster who will now represent Cloud9 in the race to wheech away a spot at the Americas Minor led by Johnny “JT” Theodosiou and his men. The newly formed OG roster has also been an eye-catcher from the Invites list as we now see Ex-ENCE spearhead Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen help his team to lay the foundation and make their first Major Appearance.

The Invites for closed qualifiers are as followed:

Europe: Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Heroic, MAD Lions, GODSENT, OG, Movistar Riders, Team Heretics

North America: FURIA Esports, Cloud9, eUnited, New Identity, Gen.G Esports, Riot Squad, Triumph, Chaos Esports Club

Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS): forZe, Team Spirit, Hard Legion, Gambit Esports, Syman Gaming, pro100, HellRaisers, Winstrike Team

South America: INTZ eSports, DETONA Gaming, Isurus Gaming, Sharks Esports

Oceania:  Renegades, ORDER, AVANT, ex-Genuine Gaming

East Asia: AUGUST, MVP, Absolute, Mazatlan

China: TYLOO, Vici Gaming, Rising-Stars, Lynn Vision

South-East Asia: Bren, BTRG, Lucid Dream, Alpha Red

Middle East: NASR, Yalla, og3od, Goliath Gaming
