We have reached the elimination stage of the Perfect World Shanghai Major as our quest for getting the best out of the Pick’Em challenge continues. Following unexpected results at the opening stage, our recommendations did not yield the best results, however, now with more data with us, our picks for the next stage will be more informed ones.
Elimination Stage 3-0 Advanced Predictions
Vitality: Having struggled in recent events due to the lack of star rifler in meizi, Vitality still remains one of the strongest contenders for the major. ZyWoo on his day is very capable of taking down even the best of the best and with a stellar supporting cast around him, a 3-0 could be their easiest accomplishment at the Major.
NAVI: Coming into the Major as the best team in the world, NAVI is a heavy favorite to go all the way. It always took other teams at their best to take NAVI down and every recent tournament saw them make deep runs effortlessly. Their 3-0 is challenged heavily by G2, who can make a similar run themselves if they are not victim to their occasional slip-ups.
Elimination Stage 3:1, 3:2 Advanced Predictions
- G2
- FaZe Clan
- Team Spirit
- MOUZ
- Liquid
- Heroic
Elimination Stage 0-3 Eliminated Predictions
GamerLegion: Arguably the weakest side coming into this stage of the major. Without any notable tier-one experience, they went through a relatively easier RMR compared to others at this stage of the major. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that they will find themselves with teams out of their league in the Major and an opening game against Vitality might get them off to the worst possible start to their campaign.
WildCards: Once again, WildCards find themselves in our 0-3 pick having proved us wrong in the previous stage. As good as they have been leading upto the tournament, they will face opponents that these players have not faced as a team which sparks a lot of question marks. The difference between them and the opposition will increase by a big margin and the Cinderella story seems unlikely.
Goes without saying that we encourage making changes to our recommendations based on your analysis and given how to Opening Stage went upsets are more frequent than we might assume.
