FalleN to retire from CS:GO in 2023

A probable farewell to the Brazilian Veteran.

Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo, winner of two Major championships, has announced that he intends to step away from competitive play of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive by the end of 2023.

This was discussed in the most recent episode of the popular esports-related podcast known as the “Monkey Business Show,” which is hosted by Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, the founder of OG, and Juan M.R. Luna (CEO of OG).

The legendary Brazilian player has actually discussed his retirement plans in the past, so this is not the first time that he has done so. “I want to play for maybe a year and a half, but that’s it,” he remarked at IEM Cologne 2022.

The 31-year-old did, however, go on to explain in detail what he hopes to do once he finishes fighting professionally, despite being torn between three different paths all related to esports or gaming.

The legendary CS:GO player FalleN of Brazil discusses his upcoming retirement.
FalleN, also referred to as the “Godfather of Brazilian CS,” was one of the first players from the region to not only win a CS:GO Major trophy, but also win two of them in a row. He is widely regarded as the “Godfather of Brazilian CS.”

Imperial Esports is presently competing as ‘Last Dance’, and he has been credited with making Brazil one of the world’s top contenders to watch.

Since the inception, it has been common knowledge that this will be the last effort that FalleN will put forth in competitive CS:GO. FalleN has devoted almost 18 years to the industry of esports, during which time he has had a significant impact on a great number of people and built up a sizable fan base.

During the podcast, FalleN discussed his retirement plan from CS:GO. He stated that while nothing was set in stone, he does have three viable avenues to pick from, all of which would keep him active in either esports or gaming.

The first was apparent, retiring as a player and becoming a coach, but the Brazilian reckons this would be little different. “There are moments when I get the urge to get into coaching and assist other teams in achieving success and winning games. But at the same time, it would be challenging because it’s kind of the same life that I live right now, where I don’t get to spend too much time at home. “

FalleN’s second option is to get into streaming and content creation because he enjoys making videos and also because he wants to spend more time at home. “I really enjoy streaming, I really enjoy coming up with material, and I really enjoy interacting with other people. Streaming is quite fantastic since it would allow me to stay at home, which is something that I think about, and it’s something that I look forward to.

The third approach, which is completely different but appealing to FalleN, is to develop and train the future generation of CS:GO players from Brazil.
