In an initiative to evolve North-East India’s esports scenario, Nodwin Gaming came up with a unique yet interesting tournament, Northeast Esports Championship. Earlier this year, Nodwin announced this venture at the Indian Gaming Show in Bengaluru. Northeast Esports Championship hosted three titles which are popular across the subcontinent – CS:GO, FIFA’19 and Mobile Legends.
The LAN Qualifiers for the Closed Qualifier were held across 6 cities namely Silchar, Aizawl, Imphal, Kohima, Guwahati and Shillong while the remaining 2 teams qualified via Online Qualifier. Eight teams for each title came down to Guwahati to secure their slots in the finale alongside tickets for Dreamhack Mumbai.
Sagar Vyas, Nodwin Gaming:
This was a pleasure for me to be on the ground and conduct all qualifiers successfully. The North-East scene has been neglected since quite some time but the enthusiasm within them is no less. This event had my personal touch since I was quite emotionally attached with it and I’d like to wish the best to all finalists heading down to Mumbai for the finale.
Two teams from each title will be heading down to Mumbai during December 21-23 at Dreamhack India for the grand-finale of Northeast Esports Championship Cup. All the matches will feature a best-of-three format.
