Flame announces retirement from professional League of Legends

After eight years of competitive League of Legends, the 28-year-old has decided that it’s time for him to step down.

Former DAMWON Gaming substitute Lee “Flame” Ho-jong has announced his retirement from the professional League of Legends scene.

The announcement came during Flame’s Twitch stream yesterday.

Flame is considered to be one of the best top laners in the Korean League of Legends scene and has played for some of the top teams including LGD Gaming, Immortals, and DAMWON Gaming during his 8-year professional League of Legends career.

After playing for several Korean teams during his initial years in the scene, Flame entered North American League of Legends by joining Immortals in the 2017 Spring Split.

Technically, Flame won two of the most prestigious League of Legends tournaments including  LCK 2020 Summer and Worlds 2020 as a substitute for DAMWON Gaming. However, he didn’t play a single game for the team’s roster that year.
