Fnatic remove Jumpy, Samuelsson takes over as head coach

fnatic have announced that Andreas ‘Samuelsson’ Samuelsson will the new coach for the Fnatic CSGO Team.

Sam will take over from Jimmy ‘Jumpy’ Berndtsson as his three-year contract with the fnatic organization comes to an end.

While under the coaching of ‘Jumpy’ Fnatic won campaigns at the IEM Katowice 2018, WESG 2017 and PLG Grand Slam, He also led the team to some critical stages of the Major Events, one of them being the Semi-Final at the ELEAGUE Major Atlanta where they lost to Astralis 2-0.

The change of coach is also another huge step towards the ‘New Phase of Fnatic’ as fnatic benched ‘Xizt’ and ‘Twist’ with no replacements announced yet, a roster shuffle is expected.

“Frankly, in recent memory at fnatic, we struggled to find the necessary consistency for what our goals required and the most recent tournaments were perhaps our weakest ever.”

“I love the game, I love coaching and I want to continue doing just that and now I look forward to finding a new team to work beside.” -Jimmy ‘Jumpy’ Berndtsson said in an interview.

Samuelsson began his career at the fnatic organization as a coach with the ‘Fnatic Academy’ where he led his team to the European Minors leading to PGL Major Krakow in 2017.

“I’m delighted to be appointed to one of the finest jobs in esport,”
“There’s no secret that we have had significant issues with consistency. Now, I’m looking forward to taking the lead in improving the team and the individuals – aspects extending to both in- and out-of-game – together working closely with our IGL and mental coach.
“I will begin by focusing on building a performance strategy and a clear structure to achieve our goals. I’m more than dedicated to put in the work required to achieve great success and build a new Fnatic era.
“I want to highlight that we all get on with Jimmy very well, and we separate on nothing but good terms. The reason we won’t extend his contract is simply that – whilst being Head Coach since 2016 – we’ve seen mixed results and it’s of agreed belief that the team needs a new voice in the locker room. We all wish him nothing but success in the future. – Words of the new coach ‘Samuelson
