Sports Interactive, after careful discussion and consultation with SEGA, licensors, and partners, has set the launch date of Football Manager 25 to March 2025. The actual release dates on all platforms will be announced at a later date.
Pushed back to September from the originally envisaged release date, the game will have added time for further development, bringing nothing but the best quality experience for this new Football Manager era. Even so, with this extra time, the developers have agreed that their game does not cut it; it doesn’t meet their strict standards.
Development has proven to be agonizing for FM25, as the actual process lags behind schedule and wasn’t as swift as hoped for by the dedicated effort of the team. The pressure on the studio increased to avoid compromise in quality on account of the tight timeline.
Football Manager 25 is a real technical and visual step forward in the series. In such a moment in the history of its franchise, the studio cannot risk rushing the release.
Well, this delay will indeed be distressing for most fans who pre-ordered the game. However, Sports Interactive appreciates all the confidence and trust that were extended to them. After all, refunds are available for those who might want to cancel their pre-order applications.
Advanced Access on PC and Mac will be available until before the date given by the release, which will be announced later by the studio when they know. The new gameplay reveal has instead been pushed to the end of January 2025.
