Former Starcraft 2 Pro Geoff Robinson Passed Away at 33

Geoff ‘iNcontroL’ Robinson has passed away at the age of 33, to the shock of many among the StarCraft 2 fraternity.

While the cause of his death has not been made public, the news was confirmed on his social media accounts:

With immense grief, we announce Geoff’s unexpected passing due to sudden illness Saturday. We ask privacy as his family works to understand what happened and make arrangements. To honor Geoff or offer comfort to his family, we suggest donations to @SoCalBulldog, which he loved.

Robinson, who was one of the first to be allowed to play the StarCraft II beta, went on to be one of the top players in the world by being the captain of Evil Geniuses. After retiring, he was a popular caster and occasionally streamed on Twitch, playing titles like Apex Legends.

Tributes have been pouring in since the announcement, with many thanking him for shaping their careers, while others remember him for being a part of the growth seen in the game.
