Epic has been forced to cancel a Reload competition because of a Fortnite problem that caused many maps to merge into one island.
Locations from other places that shouldn’t be on the island have also shown up, giving the place the appearance of a patchwork of maps. The island appeared far greener than it should have been and patches from other maps have been randomly stapled in. This prompted users to quit the game upon which the event was cancelled.
“We’ve canceled the remainder of the Reload Performance Evaluation Cup due to an issue causing multiple maps to be present in a match. Thank you for participating in the Performance Evaluation Cup, which helped identify this issue,”
As ridiculous as it sounds, this is what has happened in the game, and EPIC’s response was to cancel the tournament. We are yet to find out what caused this or whether EPIC will restart the tournament once everything is fixed. Overlapping of maps is a significant issue and suffice it to say that the game is unplayable.
