Fortnite Mobile relaunch? Here are the iOS and Android Release Details

The Battle Royale Returns: Fortnite Mobile Comeback News

In August, Fortnite Mobile made its comeback on iOS and Android platforms. After a lengthy legal dispute and an even longer hiatus, the game was finally spotted on the App Store and Google Play Store once more. However, this was limited to Europe. Players in other regions were still unable to access the game on their mobile devices without significant workarounds.

For the United States, arguably the second-largest market for Fortnite, significant news has just emerged regarding the mobile game’s status.

Fortnite will mostly return to Android in 2025

Fortnite Mobile is set to return to devices in the United States only in the near future. Regrettably, this opportunity is only available on Android devices. Reports indicate the Google Play Store is expected to restore the game by 2025. This information comes from leak source ShiinaBR. While no definitive details were provided about iOS, it is anticipated that iOS will eventually follow suit. The expectation is that the game’s revival on the Google Play Store will last for at least two years, possibly longer.

Since August 2020, Fortnite has been absent from iOS mobile devices. It has been over four years since players in the United States—following Europe’s recent victory in this struggle—have been able to enjoy Epic Games’ titles on their iPhones. It was once a significant segment for gamers, but unfortunately, it has been overshadowed by the feud between Apple and Epic Games.

In 2020, Epic took legal action against Apple concerning their in-app purchase practices. Allegedly, Apple’s method absorbed a portion of the revenue that would typically go to Epic, whose game is free-to-play.

The two parties battled in court, with the legal proceedings mostly siding with Epic. They succeeded in prompting Apple to reevaluate their in-app purchasing policies, marking a victory for Epic. However, the outcome resulted in Fortnite being taken off all iOS devices, and it has yet to return. That may change very soon.
