Fortnite Raises $144 Million To Aid Ukrainian Victims 

Two weeks ago, Epic Games announced that they will be donating all the money made from purchases in Fortnite, for humanitarian  aid in Ukraine. The campaign started on 20th March 2022 and concluded on 3rd April 2022. Upon conclusion it has been revealed that over 144 Million USD were donated to the cause by Fornite and Epic Games.

After the announcement, the game raised  $36 million on the first day itself and after the completion of two weeks the full amount raised is $144 million.

As per the earlier announcement, these funds will be allocated to orgs working at the ground level for humanitarian relief in Ukraine.

EPIC Games will be working with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), UNHCR – The UN Refugee Agency,United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) And Direct Relief to provide help.

Fortnite brought a new game mode to its game this season, with the new ‘No Build’ mode. In this mode, the most conventional feature from Fortnite, i.e. building, has been removed. The move has been welcomed by the community and players have flocked back to the game to try this mode out.

Epic was not alone from the gaming world in providing financial help for Ukraine. Previously ESL and leading CSGO teams also agreed to donate $125,000 for humanitarian aid. Humble Bundle, a storefront for collections of video games, also raised over $20 million for Ukraine, as they announced via twitter.
