Kenny “KennyS” Schrub has cast his G2 future in huge doubt, after he has refused to sign a new contract, according to this report by VPEsports.
Prior to the major, the squad signed a new contract with lower terms but with better work balance. However, the 7th Best rated player of 2017 is yet to sign the contract as of today. This does not cast immediate doubt over their future, but does potentially pave the way for Kenny to leave for free on the expiry of his current contract in February 2020.
The team has had a rocky start, with a 2-3 loss at the FACEIT Major being described as underwhelming, with both their victories coming in overtime against C9 and Hellraisers, while losing convincingly to FaZe, MIBR and Complexity. They were called out by their own CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez who was disappointed by their performance at their major, while the poor performance of Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans and Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux has opened up further rumours about the potential return of Belgian pro Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom.
No immediate changes are expected in the project started by Ex6TenZ and Richard “shox” Papillon, but G2 will be hoping that the future of Kenny is resolved as soon as possible, so that the team can either continue working with their star awper for the considerable future or could possibly look for replacements and also make some money at the same time. They have, however, signed former EnvyUs coach, Damian “MaLeK” Marcel after the major, who debuted at ESL One New York.
