If you’ve attempted to pre-order or purchase the PlayStation 5, you’re probably already aware of the difficulties consumers have been facing while trying to get their hands on Sony’s newly released console.
Recently, we had reported how bots have flooded the retail markets to snatch products earlier than legitimate buyers can access them. This time, it appears like people who have already managed to pre-order the console are finding themselves amid trouble.
According to reports from several sources, instead of the PS5, buyers received a bunch of other stuff like cat food, foot massager, or a grill in the box.
Amazon later confirmed to Sky News that these reports were genuine. “We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders,” the company said. “We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right. Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.”
Due to the short supply of the PS5, there’s a high chance that these missing products might have been stolen at some point during the shipment.
While buyers are currently extremely angry about this situation, it appears like they can opt for a new copy in the ‘Customer Service’ section of Amazon.
