With less than 3 days to go, Destiny 2’s 30th-anniversary update will introduce a new dungeon, an armor set, new weapons, emotes, Sparrows, ornaments, Ghost Shells, and the Gjallarhorn Rocket Launcher from Destiny.
Thanks to the Anniversary Pack’s Steam description, we now know that the new three-player Dungeon, Grasp of Avarice will focus on “an adventurer who traded his humanity for treasure.”
According to Bungie’s TWAB post, armor mods will be slightly easier to apply thanks to upcoming QoL changes with the armor system. From next week, you can change your armor mods without spending glimmer, the in-game currency. Thanks to several API changes, players can apply “Armor 2.0 mods, weapon perks, shaders, ornaments, and ghost projections” through third-party Destiny 2 inventory management apps and websites.
Console players can also look forward to USB keyboard text chat support when The Witch Queen expansion launches next year, however, Display-only text chat will be rolled out on December 7 alongside the 30th Anniversary update. While this is a welcome change, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming users will be parting ways with Destiny 2 and all of its current expansions (Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light) on December 8. However, Destiny 2 will be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC.
